Joe Garrell

Joe Garrell, CCIM has more than 30 years of broad based experience in the commercial real estate industry having brokered transactions in 8 states and 4 foreign countries.   He was in international sales and marketing in San Francisco and New York with multi-national firms in New Zealand, Australia and Great Brittan prior to returning home to Myrtle Beach, SC where, among other projects,   he conceptualized, assembled and implemented the noteworthy acquisition and sale of over 43% of the International Paper Realty’s 11,000 acre Carolina Forest Development bordered by the Intracoastal Waterway and planned by Kimberly-Horn for 55,000 residents.   He also specializes in waterfront properties.
Mr. Garrell has committed himself to being on the leading edge of the real estate industry having completed over 535 classroom hours leading to over 22 designations including 2 awarded by the prestigious Urban Land Institute in which he was a Full Member as well as several distressed property disciplines.   He holds the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and has completed the rigorous Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation (non-practicing) requirements to help better understand his clients’ financial considerations from the cradle to the grave.   He is an ALC with the Realtors Land Institute.
Seeking to always give back to his community he sponsors “Joe’s Lunch Bunch” to aid in feeding the homeless and he is active and supports his wife’s charity, Katie’s Project, which assures that disadvantaged young people can attend their proms which would otherwise not be possible.  Their biggest fundraiser is the Mr. Myrtle Beach competition which is now in its fifth year.  In addition to these efforts Joe has participated heavily in musical theater productions both locally, on a state wide basis and in California.
Joe graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B. S. in Food Chemistry from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.
